We saved $32 for our family, and all we had to do was read the code from the website from our smart phone. We found a voucher online that let us save $8 per person. Call ahead to be sure all exhibits are open to get the most out of your visit. Coupons can usually be found on their web site or local Pepsi cans, etc.

I highly recommend it for those who have never had the opportunity to do any type of drive through safari. Between the rides, the water fun, the safari, and feeding the animals - there's a little something for everyone at LCS. Also offered are other programs such as summer camps, scout trips, etc. I have never been there, but know others who have and enjoyed their experience. There are no photo ops available at this park (no park photographers, I mean) but definitely bring your cameras as there are plenty of "Kodak Moments" to be had. There are scheduled animal talks/shows, but I think they are geared more toward the younger folks. Also for your enjoyment is a small goonie golf area, paddleboats, and a small boat trip around monkey island - all at no extra cost. Also a smaller ferris wheel type of ride, also included in admission price. There is a carousel, as well, and there is no extra fee for that., Also without an extra fee is a kiddie ride with dragons that is much like Dumbo at DisneyWorld only pint - sized. There are also inflatable slides (when open) and a water play area which is rather roomy and the kid always enjoy this. Animals you will see include parrots, gators, porcupine and more. Giraffe feeding, budgie feeding, lorikeet feeding. There are a few encounters avaialable for a small fee. Snack bar with ICees and carvel ice cream (when it's open, not when it's slow) and a main gift shop and restaurant, as well as 2 smaller shopping areas. When you've had your fill, there is parking and then the other part of the park where you walk through. Giraffes, zebras, gazelles, ostrich, water buffaloes, rhinos, gnus, kudu, chimpanzees - there are many animals to see in the drive through preserve. But you can drive through the safari as many times as you wish.

Some trips are better than others as sometimes the animals approach your vehicle and other times they do not. The drive through safari is a lot of fun. So call ahead to find out what is not going to be in commission that day prior to arrival so as not to be disappointed. I pay the same price to get into the park on week days (when it's less crowded), yet the inflatable water slides, camel rides and other items are not available. What I DON'T like is that some are not available during the week. The price has certainly gone up, but there are many more features in the park. If you need a vehicle (such as arrive on motorcycle or convertable) there are some available for you through LCS. Please drive slow, no more than 8 miles per hour. Also, a brochure with photos naming the animals you will encounter during the drive. Upon entering you are given the choice of tape or CD which will guide you through the park. It has grown and improved over the years. Lion Country Safari is our area's only drive-through safari and 2 parks in one. Not sure if it was the parking issue or the disappointed son, but this was definitely not a great visit for us. After that point, he was ready to go.and we had basically flushed $60 down the drain. The son we hoped would be interested started asking when he'd see the elephant(s).and.we got to the old elephant area and it no longer housed elephants. This didn't start things off well, and it went downhill from there. And, frankly, I wasn't very happy that they would even think about charging for parking.when you're not parking. Two supervisors later, the parking fee was waived.but they weren't very happy about it. I explained we had no interest in the amusement park in the 100+ degree weather and were only going to be driving through and therefore there was no reason to pay for parking. Got there and was shocked to see that they had built-in a $6 "parking" fee for a drive through safari! I complained and was told that this was a mandatory fee because they include admission to a small amusement park now as part of the safari admission fee. It's a decent haul (20 minutes) from I-95. First off, my wife and I forgot just how far this place is off the highway. One of my sons is really into animals and we thought he would really enjoy a visit to Lion Country this year.
